How to measure for your made-to-measure blinds
Every Custom Blinds blind is made in Liverpool to your measurements. When you order, pick a Size type: Recess size (give us the window opening and we make the deductions so it fits inside) or Exact blind size (we make it to exactly the size you give). Please measure carefully: we can't remake free if the size given was wrong, but you can add Measure Cover (£9.95) for a remake if you get it wrong.
Not sure? Send us a photo and your measurements on Messenger or call 07740 551187 for a free size check. Or add Measure Cover (£9.95 per blind) and we'll remake it if your measurement is wrong.
What you need
-
A steel tape measure (not a fabric or sewing tape)
-
A pen and paper
-
A step ladder for tall windows
Step 1: Choose inside or outside the recess
Inside the recess (recess fit): the blind sits inside the window opening.
-
Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom of the recess. Use the smallest of the three.
-
Measure the drop on the left, middle and right. Use the smallest.
-
Order with Size type: Recess size and give us those measurements. We make the small deductions so the blind fits neatly inside. Check for handles, tiles or obstructions in the recess.
Outside the recess (face fit): the blind is fixed on the wall or frame above the window.
-
Measure the area you want to cover. We suggest adding about 3-4in (8-10cm) each side and above to stop light gaps, and enough below to cover the sill if you want.
-
Order with Size type: Exact blind size and give us the finished size you want the blind to be.
